Vundabar to trio z Bostonu, które tworzy energetyczny indie rock, łączący chwytliwe melodie z elementami math rocka, surf rocka i dużą dawką post-punkowego ducha. Zespół powstał w 2013 roku, kiedy wokalista/gitarzysta Brandon Hagen i perkusista Drew McDonald byli jeszcze w szkole średniej. Wkrótce dołączył do nich basista Zack Abramo, a grupa zaczęła występować lokalnie. Vundabar, czerpiąc inpsirację od legend z Bostonu, takich jak Pixies, łączy bogate melodie zawiłego folku z dynamiką indie rocka. Zespół wydał swój debiutancki album „Antics” pod koniec 2013 roku.
W 2015 roku zespół poszedł w bardziej surowe brzmienia, wydając album „Gawk”, który wprowadził do ich stylu grunge’owy post-punk. W 2018 roku ukazał się „Smell Smoke” – gęsty i oczyszczający album pełen chwytliwych utworów, które łączyły szczerość z intensywnością. W 2020 roku trio wydało zwarte i precyzyjne „Either Light”, gdzie po raz pierwszy współpracowali z producentem – Patrickiem Hylandem (znanym z pracy z Mitski).
W 2021 roku fragmenty wideo z fanami śpiewającymi utwór „Alien Blues” z 2015 roku zalały media społecznościowe, co przyniosło tej siedmioletniej piosence miliony odsłuchań. W 2022 roku Vundabar wydał swój piąty album studyjny, „Devil for the Fire”.
