W skład Yumi Zouma wchodzą: Christie Simpson (wokal, instrumenty klawiszowe), Josh Burgess (gitara, bas, wokal, instrumenty klawiszowe), Charlie Ryder (gitara, bas, instrumenty klawiszowe) oraz Olivia Campion (perkusja). Zespół powstał w 2013 roku. Choć wszyscy członkowie pochodzą z Nowej Zelandii, od początku mieszkali osobno w różnych miastach – Christie w Melbourne, Charlie w Londynie, Josh w Nowym Jorku, a Olivia w Wellington.
Kariera Yumi Zouma obejmuje już ponad dekadę – od shoegaze’u i dream-popu z ich pierwszej EP-ki, EP I, oraz popularności singla A Long Walk Home For Parted Lovers w blogosferze w 2014 roku, po synthpopowy debiutancki album Yoncalla, trasy koncertowe u boku Lorde, Jamie’ego xx i Magdalena Bay, globalne wsparcie od Pitchfork, Stereogum, Consequence of Sound, The FADER, SPIN i The Guardian, a także obecność w radiu SiriusXM i Triple J. Po czterech EP-kach i czterech albumach studyjnych (Yoncalla z 2016 r., Willowbank z 2017 r., Truth or Consequences z 2020 r. oraz Present Tense z 2022 r.) Yumi Zouma są gotowi wkroczyć w kolejną dekadę swojej kariery wraz z nadchodzącym wydawnictwem w barwach wytwórni Nettwerk.
