Jego najnowszy i najpiękniejszy album, „Wild Love”, oddaje emocje, zawirowania, obawy i radość tych ostatnich kilku lat. Związki rozpadają się z najróżniejszych powodów, a kiedy chodzi o kogoś tak bliskiego, stawka jest znacznie wyższa”.

Każdy utwór na „Wild Love” został nagrany z udziałem grupy ulubionych muzyków sesyjnych Passengera oraz nowo zakupionego syntezatora z lat 80., który nadał niektórym piosenkom, między innymi rockowemu „Lightning Strikes”, klimat kojarzący się z serialem Stranger Things. Jedną z niespodzianek na albumie jest pełna uroku wersja „Willow” Taylor Swift. „Absolutnie uwielbiam tę piosenkę – Rebekah i ja często jej słuchaliśmy, kiedy zaczynaliśmy się spotykać. To był dla nas naprawdę ważny moment”.

Pierwszym singlem promującym płytę został „It Was Gonna Be You”. „Ta piosenka pojawiła się bardzo późno i początkowo nie byłem pewien, czy będzie pasować do pozostałych. Ale im więcej razy ją grałem, tym bardziej zdawałem sobie sprawę, że pokazuje inną stronę miłości, która – jak czułem – powinna znaleźć swoje miejsce na albumie. No i jest cholernie chwytliwa”.

The chart-topping, record-setting singer/songwriter famed as Passenger has recently married and, last year, became a father for the first time. Unexpectedly, aged 42, he is now a family man. ‚Wild Love’, his latest, loveliest album, captures the excitement, upheaval, trepidation, and joy of the past few years. As a follow-up to 2021’s pandemic-penned ’Songs For The Drunk and Broken Hearted’, which hit No. 2 at home and went Top 10 across Europe, it’s quite the turnaround. “I wasn’t sure I’d get to have a family,” says Passenger. “The idea of not having one was something I’d started to accept, but then, lo and behold, it happened. In a really romantic, weirdly Hollywood way. It turned out that the love of my life had been there the whole time.”

Passenger’s partner, Rebekah, had been his day-to-day manager for a decade, by his side on tours, promo trips, and video shoots all over the world as his audience exploded in the wake of his 2012 mega-hit "Let Her Go." Coming out of Covid, they fell for each other, but as ‚Wild Love’ reveals, it was a risk both were wary to take. “Going from a working relationship to a romantic one is scary,” says Passenger. “The older you get, the more of the spikier sides of love you’ve seen. Things go sour for all sorts of reasons and with someone so close, the stakes are so much higher".

Every song on ’Wild Love’ was captured with a group of Passenger’s favourite session players and a newly purchased ‘80s synth, which added some Stranger Things vibes to songs including the rocky "Lightning Strikes." Among the surprises on the album is a sumptuous cover of Taylor Swift’s "Willow." “I absolutely love this song - Rebekah and I listened to it a lot when we started going out. It marked a real moment for us.”

The first single, "It Was Gonna Be You,” became a late addition to the album. “Initially I wasn’t sure it would fit with the others. But the more I played it, the more I realised that it was representing another side of love which I felt needed to have its place on the album. That, and it's flipping catchy too.”
